FRAME SIZE FOR AN A0 POSTER
A0 is the largest standard A-series size at 84.1×118.9 cm (33.11×46.81 inches). It is used for architectural plans, exhibition graphics, conference posters, and dramatic statement art. Framing an A0 print is a serious undertaking — the finished piece will be over a metre tall without a mount. Most people skip the mount at this size to keep the frame manageable. Without a mount, you need an A0 frame (84.1×118.9 cm). With a 5 cm mount, the frame grows to 94.1×128.9 cm — over 4 feet tall. Use the calculator below to check exact dimensions.

WHERE TO HANG AN A0 POSTER
An A0 print is an installation, not just wall art. It needs a large, unbroken wall — at least 140 cm wide and 180 cm tall. Living rooms with high ceilings (2.7 m or more) are ideal: hang the print so its centre is at standing eye level, about 155 cm from the floor. Open-plan loft spaces, converted warehouses, and commercial interiors suit A0 particularly well. In a bedroom, A0 works above a super-king headboard if the ceiling height allows it. Avoid placing A0 prints in rooms with low ceilings (under 2.4 m) — the top of the frame will feel like it is pressing against the ceiling. Hallways are generally too narrow for comfortable viewing at this scale. Stairwells with tall walls are a bold alternative — the print fills the double-height space impressively. Always check that your wall fixings can handle the weight before hanging.
LARGE-FORMAT PRINTS
We do not currently sell A0 prints, but our 24×36 inch posters (61×91 cm, from £39.99) are our largest option and deliver serious visual impact at a more manageable scale.
FRAMING TIPS
At A0, practicality matters as much as aesthetics. Aluminium frames are the go-to choice: they are rigid, lightweight, and keep costs down at this size. For a premium residential display, a slim hardwood moulding (20–25 mm) in oak or walnut looks elegant without adding excessive weight. Always use acrylic glazing rather than glass — a sheet of glass at A0 is extremely heavy and dangerous if it breaks during hanging. UV-filtering acrylic protects the print from fading and weighs a fraction of glass. For mounting, a French cleat system (a two-piece interlocking rail) is more secure than wire and hooks at this scale.
