Common questions about Hero Pose
What does Virasana mean?
Virasana comes from vira (hero) and asana (pose) — the Hero's seat, kneeling with the hips settled between the heels.
Is Hero Pose bad for the knees?
Not when supported. Sit up on a block or cushion so the knees aren't forced into a deep bend, and never push through sharp pain — the stretch should stay in the thighs and ankles.
What is Hero Pose used for?
It's a stable kneeling seat for breathwork and meditation, and it gently stretches the quads, knees and ankles.
What sizes does the Hero Pose print come in?
Three sizes: 8×12" (£19.99), 16×24" (£25.99) and 24×36" (£39.99). Every print ships unframed. Free UK shipping over £60.
